Public certification and recertification classes in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, plus private classes for teams. Learn the material, pass the exam and leave knowing how it applies to your kitchen.
What you get

The ServSafe Manager program covers the foodborne-illness risks, time and temperature control, cross-contamination, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and the management systems a certified manager is expected to run.
Jim teaches the same curriculum every ServSafe class does. The difference is what surrounds it. Cooling is explained with a hotel pan of marinara at 9 p.m., not a chart. Receiving is a truck at the back door during lunch. Management accountability is what he was on the hook for as an owner, and what your health inspector will hold you to.

Questions
What managers and owners ask most before registering.
The ServSafe Manager Certification issued by the National Restaurant Association is valid for five years from the exam date. Many operators renew earlier than that so a certificate never lapses mid-inspection. If your certificate is coming due, see recertification.
Managers and supervisors who are responsible for food safety in a commercial food-service operation: restaurants, cafeterias, senior-living and healthcare kitchens, schools, daycares, markets, food trucks and commissaries. Under Pennsylvania's Food Employee Certification Act, licensed food facilities must have at least one certified supervisory employee on staff; local health departments may have additional requirements. See the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for the official requirements, and if you are unsure what applies to your operation, ask Jim. Culinary Standard is an independent training provider, not a health department or regulatory agency.
Class length, format and the exam schedule are set for each session and shown on its listing on the Classes page. Public classes are designed to be completed in a single scheduled session, with the proctored exam taken as part of it. If a listing is not clear about timing, ask before you register.
Each class listing states exactly what your registration includes, including whether the proctored ServSafe Manager exam and the exam fee are part of it. Pricing and inclusions are published on the class card before you pay, so there are no surprises on the day.
Not everyone passes on the first attempt, especially managers who have been out of a classroom for years. Retake options and any associated cost are explained at registration and again in class, so a participant who needs a second attempt knows exactly what to do next. Contact Culinary Standard for the current retake process.
Recertification means passing the ServSafe Manager exam again before your current certificate expires. Culinary Standard offers focused recertification sessions for managers who already know the material and need a refresher plus a proctored exam, rather than sitting through the full course again. Details and dates are listed under Classes.
What is included with each class, such as the course materials and exam, is listed on the class card. If you would like to prepare in advance, ask when you register and Jim will tell you what to expect.
