On-site & group training

Bring the training to your team.

Private food-safety and ServSafe Manager classes delivered at your location. One instructor, one date, your whole group trained the same way, using your kitchen as the classroom.

Why on-site

Consistency is a food-safety control too

When five managers take five different classes in five different months, you get five versions of the rules. When your team is trained together, in your building, by one instructor, everyone leaves with the same standard and the same vocabulary.

Jim had to sign paychecks for 28 years, so he understands how important and expensive time is to a business owner. That is why he brings the class to you, at your convenience, at a time that will not interrupt your business. Groups of five or more qualify for on-site training.

It is also simply easier. No one drives across the county, no shift is short a manager for a day and no one has to explain to a new hire "how we do it here" after the fact, because the class already covered how you do it here.

  • Delivered at your restaurant or facility
  • Scheduled around service, not a public calendar
  • Examples drawn from your own kitchen
  • Full certification, recertification or staff training
  • Proctored exam on site where applicable
  • One standard across every location

Formats

Three kinds of on-site sessions

ServSafe Manager certification

The full course and proctored exam for managers and supervisors who need the certificate, delivered privately for your group.

Recertification session

A focused refresher and exam for managers whose certificates are coming due, coordinated so no one lapses.

Team food-safety training

Practical, non-certification training for cooks, servers, dietary aides and support staff: hand washing, glove use, temperatures, labeling, allergens and cleaning.

Browse the full FAQ

Can you train our employees at our location?

Yes. That is the point of on-site training. Jim brings the class to your restaurant, facility, school or commissary so your team learns in the kitchen they actually work in, on a date that fits your schedule, without sending people off site one at a time.

How many employees are needed for an on-site class?

On-site classes are available for groups of five or more. Pricing and available dates are confirmed when you inquire. If your group is smaller than five, a public class in Bucks County is usually the better fit, and Jim will tell you that honestly.

What types of organizations use on-site training?

Restaurants and restaurant groups, senior-living communities, hospitals and healthcare facilities, daycares and schools, corporate and institutional cafeterias, clubs and recreational facilities, markets and food retailers, food trucks and commissary kitchens. Anywhere food is prepared and served commercially.

How far does Culinary Standard travel?

The core service area is Bucks County, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Travel beyond that is handled case by case depending on group size and scheduling. Include your location in the inquiry and you will get a straight answer.

Is on-site training the same as the ServSafe Manager class?

It can be. On-site sessions can deliver the full ServSafe Manager certification class with the proctored exam, a recertification session, or non-certification food-safety training for line staff. Tell Jim what your team needs and the session is built around it.

Can the training be tailored to our menu and processes?

Yes, and that is where on-site training earns its value. Jim uses your walk-in, your prep list and your service pattern as the examples, so what your team learns maps directly onto what they do tomorrow.
